A missing or incorrect ICD-10 Code can have a significant impact on a center’s revenue under the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM). This program is designed to help attendees understand the ICD-10 CM Coding Manual and how to effectively use it to code and sequence resident conditions. Key coding conventions and the related guidelines are highlighted, along with primary diagnosis definition and chapter-specific coding guidelines relevant to skilled nursing facilities. Recent MDS updates and the PDPM are also reviewed as to how diagnoses and coding play an essential role in MDS, care planning and billing. Discussion will also include common pitfalls to avoid when coding diagnoses and the MDS.
This program is geared toward executives at the regional/corporate level, administrators, nurses, therapists and professionals focused on MDS and coding at the facility level. 10 hours of continuing education will be provided.
